The Heisman Trophy presentation 2009 is hours away, as the Downtown Athletic Club crowns a new legend. But the trophy presentation in 2009 could go to any one of five budding legends, presumably. Some nominees are bigger favorites than most, and this award isn’t usually prone to upsets. However, it is a relatively wide open field at the Heisman Trophy presentation this year, as befitting this wide open 2009 season.

I know soccer purists hate this suggestion, because they claim it will ruin the quality of the game. I find their objections very unconvincing (especially with my suggestion where I would limit it to two players even on direct or corner kicks). There would more excitement, more action, more fast breaks, and most importantly, more scoring. I played soccer in high school and I tried to watch games in the last 3 World Cups. Even the Brazilian men were boring. Some of the games were unbearable, and I love all sports.

Trait #1. Tebow is unorthodox on the job. Although his unconventional way of playing quarterback has drawn doubt from experts, he is putting his own touch on the NFL – just as Generation Y is doing in the workplace. They want to work away from the office, take time off to do things important to them, and use personal technology like tentacles to search-out “what’s up”. You know, the things that just don’t fit into your workplace blueprint.

Personally, Barbara and I like the feel of sowing seed as the Spirit leads and trusting God for the increase but we also feel an obligation to remind Christians, on occasion, that there’s a blessing in store for sowing their seed into the Kingdom. It seems only fair to us that others should be blessed as we have been. After all, if Budweiser and Burger King will interrupt my TV football games to “remind” me to buy their goods, I don’t really have a problem with reminding people about something that will only bless them if they’ll just get involved in the program.

However, Tana admitted that he did not personally witness the dance. He was made aware of it by numerous parents, his assistant coaching staff and Dulaney athletic director Michael Lafferty. Tana stated that Perry Hall coach Pete Eibner apologized after the game.

Due to the nature of the guest list, the children attending the party range in age from little Sally–a mere four years old–up to twelve-year-old Turner, who is dutifully turning a blind eye to the Barbie-style decorations. With twenty children to organize and such a wide range of ages, the adults break into an animated discussion on the merits of various party games.

One of my sons has made it a habit to tell me when parting “Make good choices Mom.” I laugh knowing he’s poking fun at all the motherly speeches launched at him over the years. Still, he makes a good point. Surviving success is a choice. Coming up with a better definition is another one. I realize I’m not likely to be featured in any of the business periodicals or be invited as a guest speaker on famous talk shows for singing lullabies, laughing with my family or eating watermelon. I will, however, be remembered by those who matter most to me for choosing to live my life more bigly. And I’m okay with that. Yep. I’m very much okay with that.
